NEWTOWN FALLS, OHIO — Venture Plastics Inc. has installed a Nissei injection molding press with 950 tons of clamping force for its factory in El Paso, Texas, called Southwest Venture Plastics.
The Nissei FVX 860 hybrid will molds parts for the power backup industry — battery jars and lids with lead inserts, for backup battery power during a power loss. Customers in that market serve telecommunications, utility, switchgear and control, cable, broadband and solar markets, according to Bryon Osborne, vice president of sales marketing at Venture in Newton Falls.
The press sports the hybrid X pump, which combines servomotor drive technology and hydraulic drive technology to cut energy use by up to 45 percent over a standard hydraulic machine.
Venture has equipped the Nissei press with a Yushin robot.
Osborne said Southwest Venture Plastics in El Paso now has 15 injection molding machines. This is the first hybrid press that uses both electric and hydraulic power, he said.
